Whats needed to get std Zetec injection working
donut - 15/1/06 at 06:02 PM

What does it take to get the std injection working on an 1800 Zetec in an Indy?

I have everything for the engine bar the ECU. Megasquirt would replace that i guess. What else is needed? This is of course dependant on being able to fit the injection into the chassis.

Would this route be better/cheaper than Bike carbs?

am currently working on a plug and play megasquirt for my 2.0 zetec(using standard ford engine loom), should be possible but will depend on year of engine etc .

Had a measure up and the black plastic thingy sticks out by about 3" so i think it would be better to go bike carbs!

Go for bike TBs for the fuel and treat your self to the Emerald ECU. I'll even send you the map for it. It seems the ECU is the tricky bit to sort. With the Emerald just wire it up to the sensors/injectors and power and off you go. The software is good and you can tell in seconds if anny of the sensors are not working or disconnected....Real just plug and play stuff.
