Your thoughts!
I fitted my st170 and type 9 in tonight but haven't drilled the mounts yet! My concern is that if I fit the mounting bolt through the gearbox rubber mount the gearbox sits off centre to the tunnel and if I set a straight line through the crank the engine is offset by 10-15mm which then means that the dry sump pump sits very close to the wishbone mount. Two questions really has anyone else noticed that the gearbox drive shaft doesn't sit in the middle of the tunnel and the second is does it matter if the crankshaft is not a straight line through the gearbox to the diff? This means the engine will be off square in the bay so that I can get some clearance for the dry sump pump.

ISTR prop shaft U/Js actually last longer if they have to rotate through a bit of an angle. Think there was a recent thread about it

Hi mate - I'd try and keep the engine as square as possible...

Have you any pictures of the predicament you are facing - often helps ;-)

I had no clearance problems with my Zetec MK1 - but I only had a cut down sump ;-)
