Which Radiator Fan???
muzchap - 17/1/06 at 11:33 PM

Hi guys,

I have a MK2 Escort radiator.

It's been re-cored to be dual core, for my zetec...

But the question is - what fan do I use? Is it mounted behind or in front?

Sorry - I'm very thick this year

Cheers,

Murray

Murray,

It depends on a) space and b) whether you get a suck or blow fan.

I have a full fan shroud at the back of mine and used the Sierra fan so that sucks, leaving the front of the rad in the airflow.

CBS do a couple, including some rather clever fan attaching cable ties.

oh no, not the through radiator fan mounting devices

ideally use the biggest fan that will physically fit in the space you have; thermostatically controlled means that you would not over heat - you can never have too much overcooling!!

Having a cowl that is close to the radiator makes it more efficient.

I looked into front/rear mounting and the air flow is the same. You can get fans from the scrap yard, suction and push type and maybe a cowl too.

Or look at RH site - they do Honda fan wiuth cowl really cheap - this is the one.

, front or rear hel
