I've just had my Escort Zetec sump shortened. The guy did a terrific job, and has welded in a new place for the drain plug, with supposedly the same thread as the old hole had.

However, I only have the drain plug from the Mondeo sump, and it is much smaller! It doesn't fit?!? Is anyone aware of the difference between the thread of the Mondeo drainplug and the Escort drain plug?

And does anyone know the right thread for the Escort drainplug?!?!? I don't have a bolt the right size to check it, and don't have the original plug.....

They should be the same mate. IIRC all fords are. The only diffence being the size of the flange on the bolt. M14 are they?
