Is the plate needed between the gearbox and engine?
If so has anyone got a template for zetec to type 9? Longshot i know.

standard ford bellhousing pattern so the type 9 will bolt straight up so would a 4 speed if desired
Sorry wasnt that clear. Theres that tin plate that goes between to cover the open gaps.
Yes it is needed it helps locate he starter.
CVH Sierra one "should" fit with minor adjustments ---- Pinto Sierra one needs big lumps cut out.
ah that old thing! i may have one kicking about somewhere to be honest i dont think i bothered with one on my mk2 escort
will look tomorrow see if i have one
In a word Yes you do need the plate.
I used a standard pinto one and attacked it with a nibbler until it fitted.
no never used on on my 1.8 silver top zetec and have not used one on my 2.0 black top. everything seems fine.
