Can some one tell me the following information. It not striclty Kit car but it will help a lot of people.

1)What Gear box is fitted to the 1.8CVH Engine?
2) What Gaerbox is fitted to a 1.8 Diesel Sierra
3) What Gearbox is fitted to a 2.3 Diesel Sierra.

No before anyone asks..... I don't want to put a diesel in a Kit Car. I want to put a 2.3 D or 1.8D into a Suzuki SJ413 Chassis before re-body'ing it. And I already have a CVH gearbox.

If you missed the other thread may I add that option 2: (Ford/Pug Boat-anchor 2.3) uses an type 9 box BUT has a much larger bell housing and a longer input shaft. So if you try to mate a 2.3D lump to a petrol Type 9 you will be in for trouble.

Regarding mating the 1800D to the Type 9 box, there is a web site on geocities that has a diesel Morris minor, There is quite a bit of info on mating a Ford 1.6D to a 2L sierra box. have a look at : http://www.geocities.com/moggydieseluk/

I'm converting a Rickman (SJ Clone but without the rust) to 1800 TD power, however the cheap engine I bought has a camshaft in 5 bits, 2 bent valves, 1 damaged piston (detonation not valve collison !) and a shot turbo, and now has a dented sump where we dropped it ! So be careful the ford lumps like chucking cam belts off !
