Zetecs a very good engine --- the xflo was good in its day but rebuilds are now expensive. Untouched apart from a cam belt change a Zetec is good for
200,000 miles.
The cost of fitting a zetec can be little more than your xflo rebuild or it can be sky high if you buy all the custom made bits.
I intend swapping out my CVH for a Zetec after sva, I am planning to use Megasquirt and either a Rover 220 injection manifold or bike throttle
biodies. In the UK Zetecs are at give away prices because they out last the rest of the donor.
yes, in south-africa is hard to find zetec;s - and if you do find its VERY expensive
Steal one
Stick with the xflow then m8
Maybe speak to people on here - they might be upgrading and have bits they could send over to help you out?

I'm sticking with a crossflow, building a new one almost as we speak!
Buying most of the bits off Ebay, all I need now is a clutch (missed one for 9 quid the other day!)
So far cost me 450 including a pair of 40s

welllll....
so far i've upgraded the head to oversized valves and double valve springs, i got a adjustable cam gear and speshull cover to get access to the
gear without taking off that wholve cover,
modified the sump (just need some idea's for baffles) got new oilpump, new waterpump, new clutch, spent about 150pounds servicing the gearbox,
got 40' sidy's (also got a spare intake and spare 40' just the bodies that i wanna make ITB's out of and fuel inject it), got
electronic dizzy with module etc,
SO rebuilding would cost me:
bearings, new pistons(to go 1700cc) and maybe maybe new valve stem seals - so in total:
pistons are R600 about 50pounds for 4
and bearing i think is R500 bout 40pounds
labour i can do myself *skillz*
also looking at getting a new radiator - old escort one doesnt really cool it nicely - might also be timing problem etc
