Hi,
I've just received my scholar sump, and its full of swarf
Any ideas of how best to clean it out would be appreciated - the baffling creates areas that are impossible to wipe out.
Cheers
Tony
I stuck mine in the dishwasher when the wife wasn't around

Chris
yep, wash it out one way or another, nowt wrong with a hosepipe in there.
That is an excellent idea, cheers Chris
Just stick it on, that's what the oil filter's for isn't it?
Is it magnetic so you could use a pickup tool?
nah its ally so its not magnetic - didnt stop me trying though

an air blower would be ideal i suspect. My sump also had a little swarf in it when i came back, i used a jet of wd40 to blow some away, wiped more,
the rest i'll just catch in the filter, hence an oil and filter change in about 100 miles.
Pressure washer?
is it really worth risking your engine for 20 / 30 mins getting wet with the hose pipe?
Why did they give it back to you full of swarf is the question I would be asking!
