Yes, but the ZX12 will give just as good as the Busa for half the price.
Ive got hold of a busa very very cheap, so id like to run it, been considering a holeshot turbo conversion , and of course a dry sump.
how much is cheap may i ask??
A good friend has just mangled a 2004 and was only 3rd party, I thought id take advantage and bought the whole bike for £1800

Ive got quite a bit of work to change to the busa, im wondering how much more power the busa will have.
holeshot turbo conversion is a lot cheaper on the bird compared to the busa, after watching some videos and seeing holeshots 580bhp turbo at Oulton I realy do want one.
so do i but after pricing it all up theres no way in the world i could afford it,the price on the website is old so ask jack to send you the new price list but to do it properly be prepared to spend £6000 and over
I echo exactly what Ox says, a Holeshot turbo conversion is nowhere near as cheap as it would first appear, one thing to think about is that a 300bhp
engine that just does 1/4 mile drag runs for a living has very different demands to a 300bhp engine that needs to last 2-3 hours on track per day on a
trackday. A friend of mine has recently turbo'd his Megabusa to around 350bhp spec for trackdays and although he's spent out on a few belt n
braces parts which aren't strictly necessary as long as you're careful, the cost was around 3 x more than the figures bandied about on the
websites, and that includes him doing virtually all the manual work himself.

Aslo dont forget the other costs involved when fitting more powefull engines.
Brake upgrades etc take these into consideration.
Fuel bill will be massive my friend ran the dax busa turbo got around 4mpg on it and when he sold the car the chap had it on a track day first time
out blew it up as he ran out of fuel which he was told DO NOT DO this as will f*** up the engine,
£23k down the pan.
Must say very quick car but too much for the road totally wasted.

A standard Blackbird is plenty fast enough on track and will scare you witless. 

Do many kit car owners from this site organise track days? Also is there any need for a full roll cage, Ive only been on the road and cant find the breaking point when cornering, this is the only thing ive ever owned that I cant out drive!
Not many owners organise track days but there are plenty of companies out there that do and they usually get a good turn out from members on
here. You don't need a full roll cage to get on track and you'll certainly find your cars limits. Just make sure your first trackday is one
where there's plenty of run off

A quick rack is not a necessity but makes the car easier to catch/correct if it starts to get a little bit waaaay........

Blackbird pace, Ive driven Donnington more than any other track so I guess that's the one I have most experience on I am around 3-4 seconds of
the ultimate pace against Busa & ZX12 engined cars ( I run Blackbird) but this pace is set by ex Formula Ford champs and the likes and even with
there engines and cars I wouldn't match there pace, whereas in my car I'm pretty sure they would get near it, hope that makes sense.
Quick racks, personal choice but I don't think its needed on track or road for that matter, I can do mallory hairpin without taking either hand
off the wheel and they can lead too over correction and tank slappers, some people love em though.
Roll cage, its your head under it, having had one or two close scrapes don't scrape on this one. There as been talk of helmets too recently,
visor, make sure you upgrade in this area if you buy a cheaper helmet, your heads out in the airflow and ready too catch any other bits coming your
way, stray nut, bolt, exhaust clamp wheel weight, all bits that can fall off a car in front of you, finally not needed but think about protecting your
investment with a fire extinguisher if going on track or road even, Ive got the T shirt for that one too.
