Eventually my v6 will be turbod to around 300 bhp. I want a fuel pump from the beginning with the capacity so the turbo conversion is easier,
external style to use with my MK swirl pot fitted fuel tank.
Anybody any idea if a standard cossy one will be up to the job?? Anyone know when cossy tuners have to upgrade the fuel pump? If a standard isnt up
to 300 ponies what do they upgrade to?
Anybody know any other potential donors for a 300bhp capable external pump? I'm trying to keep it locost and avoid pricey aftermarket brand new
stuff.
Another idea i had was simply running two standard (say 2.8/9 sierra) pumps in parallel. Cant see any problems with this other than needing the space
and some hose joining bits - anyone know different?

In the evo world the 255l walbro fuel pumps seems to be the one chosen, it's the same for scoobs too. They seem to be reliable and more than man
enough for 400hp cars.
I know it's tempting to keep it low cost, but think about using a 15 year old fuel pump to run your nicely tuned engine. Is it worth it for the
sake of £100?

std cossy pump is fine for 300hp
yep cossie pump will be fine... I ran mine for 10yrs with the std pump and over 350bhp.
also a brand new cossie pump can be had for £50 on ebay, they are Bosch so good quality as well.

Walbro pumps are average at best, many failures and very noisy. Many people complain they sound like leaf blowers. Bosch are far superior in build quality and reliability. Go for the std Cossie one.
Can someone tell me how high a fuel pressure the cossie pump can deliver. It obviously has the flow but for my ap i need the flow at around 70 psi

Yep, 70 psi no probs, they top out at about 90 psi iirc.
what are you running, 50 psi base pressure regd up to 70psi for 20lb boost?
Almost dead on. I think the factory setting is either 39 or 42 lbs and 1 pound per pound of boost. Its alot cheaper to up the base fuel pressure
than to fit bigger injectors so I will probably be upping the baseline. 20 lbs of boost is probably where I will cap it off as I dont want to push
it too hard even though I know of people running daily drivers at 25 lbs or much highr at the strip. Its a 2.3l lima block factory turbo. Came stock
in our version of the sierra the merkur.

So a bog standard pump and filter assy off a standard cossy ought to do the trick. Should be pretty cheap off ebay and I can always keep my eyes open
for a newer (or new) bosch pump in case it's on its last legs.

Just another quick Q. Any of you cossy experts know the flow rate of the standard 2WD Weber yellow injectors. I've got 2 sets off ebay for my
engine (so 6 and two spare). They do 200bhp with 4 as standard so should be fine doing 300 with 6, but I think I need to know the exact flow rate for
when i set up the megasquirt. I did ask on the RS owners forum, but not much response. Someone did think they were 311cc which is probably about
right. Anybody know for sure?

Yeah got my eyes on that too. But i did a little bit of google research that indicated the bosch 044 pump is good for about 650bhp!! Can you have
too big a pump? Will I need domestic drain pipe as the return? ?
Or is bosch 044 a family of different spec models??

No that pump will be fine. The difference in gpa for a pump rated at 300bhp and or one rated for 600 can be quite small. I personall run a Weldon
600A, which is rated for 600bhp and is used by a lot of the offshore power boat racers :-)
