crossflow temp & oil sender connection thread?

the waqter temp and oil pressure sender look very similar; about the same size and also appear to have a threaded rod sticking out; does anyone know the thread?

At the moment I have a push on connector but a nut and spring waster would be more secure. (all I know it is not a metric thread).

Oil sender thread is 1/4" NPT, not sure about the coolant one though but could be the same although I thought they were bigger??

I think he means the one at the other end - where the electrical connection is made. My oil sender used some rubbish USA size that I happened to have at home... some number size or other.

Everything else is UNC or UNF on the engine, so it'll be something along those lines...

the thread is just used to grip the push on connector, dosnt need nuts

yep I do mean ther other end; I haver a push on connector but a tag with nut wold be more secure.

some obscure usa connector sounds about right.

As far as i know it isnt a specific thread, as already stated basically a barb type affair to grip the push on connector. I replaced my senders and new ones had spade terminals but for the coil i cut the plugs off Sierra loom and grafted these onto my loom. Works a treat.
If you are concerned about them potentially falling off you could route and secure the loom in such a way that the plugs are better supported.

It's certainly a thread on my oil sender - I have a ring terminal held on my a bolt. However, my temp sender had a push-on connector (the replacement now has a Lucas spade connector).

If the push-on connector is reasonably tight then that's more than enough - in my case there's only 6" of wire hanging from it, in a slack loop.
