I am in the early stage of my build and i have sourced a Pinto Sierra EFi which i intend to kit to an MK Indy.
What i want to know is what is required to convert this to carbs, i have read several posts saying it is just manifold and carb from an early Sierra,
but is there more to it than just ditching the EFi unit and fitting a carb.
What about the ECU? Does this also need replacing for an early model Sierra carb type?
I am also considering altering the EFi unit to fit, any suggestions please?

Mark Allanson has a good article HERE on his EFI modification.
All you need it a carb, manifold and dizzy from an older sierra, cortina, capri or escort.

Thanks, very helpfull
Has anyone got an opinion on which is the best route, stick with the EFi or convert to standard carb (not twin Webers, too expensive at this point in
time)
The EFi is not exactly a sophisticated system by todays standards, but it will give you better starting/economy and driveability than a typical twin
choke downdraft carb (though not necessarily any more power).
If you are happy to do some fabrication work to either modify or completely replace the bulky standard plenum, then personaly I would stick with EFi
for now.

I also used EFi pinto. Simply fitted 38DGAS and manifold and then fitted early type electronic ignition (no ECU required). The EFI has the hall effect
dizzy that needs ECU - hence why everyone converts to earlier type electronic. I passed SVA no problem.
I bought the carb 2nd hand but jetted for 2.0. Bought dizzy and ignition module brand new. Both will be coming off soon and will be sold when i
convert to bike carbs with megajolt.

Where did you buy the new parts from and how much were they (if you can remember)
Do you have the part numbers or specification of exactly what i would need.
Thanks
Also, did you need an adapter plate for the manifold?
U2U sent. Ive taken my for sale hijack offline
