can i fit before silencer or after,does it matter

I believe they are meant to fasten into the tailpipe, so you can remove them as necessary.
I may have to resort to one or something similar, I got noise tested at teeside sprint @ 108db, I know they are strict at Elvington @ 105 so may not have to rev the engine as much or fit a db killer or have the silencer repacked.

On my car I have fitted the exhaust restrictor before the silencer, mainly because its bloody hard to fit one in a bend, , but it definately works, now down to under 100db. atb Chippy

thanks for that looked at curving it but its steel and it looks like its a nice fit before the silencer.Glad it worked for you did you notice any loss of power?

From what Ive seen, everyone thats fitted these dB killers or similar have suffered significant performance drop off, at the end of the day I really dont think theres much substitute for a long and large diameter silencer, or two.

Here here. didnt see any London marathon runners with tape over there mouths this morning ? let it breath, why go too the trouble of getting your engine up too top running spec then choke it too death ?

Edit too add :- maybe they could be renamed hp killer, maybe ok but even then I wouldn't recommend as a quick trackday fix but definitely not a long term solution.

I'll be fitting a homemade version before the silencer to for SVA purposes.

I agree totally with the restriction comments, it will probably be awful for power, but that doesn't bother me as it will be removed straight after SVA and the car is principally a road car (may do track days later but really need to afford the dry sump for that!) so the noise is a side issue really.
