7.7 inch clutch plate with 23 splines needed
myeates - 24/4/06 at 11:51 AM

hi all i recently posted a thread on the type 9 gearbox to a 1.3 x-flow and some tried to help but didnt really get the right answer now i have checked the dimensions.

basically my clutch actuation lever is way too tight. i have a clutch asembly and flywheel from 1.6 x-flow mk2 escort with this and im looking as the only thing to cure the problem of the lever being too tight is by getting the right clutch plate for the old flywheel and clutch.

i need a 7.7inch plate with a 23 spline centre.

can these be got hold off

thank you in advance

regards

Go to the Quinton Hazel website and download the clutch catalogue here. It's a pdf so you need acrobat reader. You will find what you need there.
It lists some 1.6 capri or cortina as having a 190 x 23 spline clutch driven plate.

7.7" simply dosen't exist

Sierra 1300/1600 23 spline 7.5" (aka 190mm) clutch.

Alternatively the clutch and cover can be Cortina or Capri, Chysler Avenger or Sunbeam.

I spent a fortune buying the wrong clutch plates thanks to the QH details!! Check the details with another source!
I found National Clutches to be very helpful.

I did this conversion some years back and it worked on the 1600 and 1300 xflow.

Type 9 box / actuation lever / release bearing

xflow flywheel (either 1600/1300) they both worked for me.

Xflow/ mk2 escort pressure plate

pressure plate from a sierra, two types (get the small one)

Bolt them together and drive.
