Automatic transaxles?

Just out of curiosity, are there any automatic transaxle transmissions? (that can be found in reasonably common donor vehicles, no 'exotic' stuff please)

if you're looking for a more traditional transaxle instead of a sideways mounted gearbox try Audi's (Not the A3)

Yep, just about all Audi gearboxes are transaxle. 'Course, the Quattros have a flange on the back too!

Probably want a gearbox off an A4 1.8 Auto, as you could mate it up to a 1.8T engine, and knowing the krauts, the bottom end is brobably VERY similar to that of the 2.0 20V Turbo lump in the S series cars.
