How have people managed with the Choke Cable from your XFlow?

I checked mine the other day and noticed that once clamped to the carburetor the outer cable would just reach the scuttle rearest to the engine so would not reach the dash and that was with no slack in the cable.

If youve fitted one how you get around the SVA protrutions on dash?

We used a modified brake cable from a pushbike.

When our car was SVA'd some 2 years or so ago it was OK to have the choke protruding as long as it was within the diameter area of the steering wheel.

I'd guess that the same SVA regs apply today, but if not I'd just do without a choke until after SVA.

There is an exclusion zone around the steering wheel, 127mm from the outside of the wheel. (good reason to fit the sierra wheel for SVA). The bottom of the wheel is the cut of for the exempt zone.
Anything within that area is not tested for projection. Hope that helps. Chippy.

I used a choke cable assembly from a fiesta. The cable was plenty long enough and the knob was SVA friendly.

We had a 1300GT weber jetted correctly and I removed the choke flaps and spindle completely.

To start I used to 'accelerator pump' fuel into the intake manifold about five times. This always worked fine - drive it carefully for the first 5-10 minutes and it soon got up to temperature.

You also get less restriction in the intake flow this way.
