I just spent the best part part of today replacing the throttle bodies, injectors and upper inlet manifold on my V6 Duratec so my engine is now
theoretically an ST200 now! 220 bhp when it is set up apparently which should make it go quite nicely ............ when I can get the damn thing
running properly.
I reckon the base map is wrong (I'm using Easymap) as it sounds really retarded, backfiring when you open the throttle and ticking over very,
very lumpy. Trouble is I can't edit the map yet as the ecu locks me out - hopefully I'll get a password tomorrow so I can have a proper
fiddle.
At least I know everything is nailed together properly and my electrics work (phew) It presently makes a very effective pidgeon scarer
The quest continues

Update: BKLOCO and I spent a few hours trying to figure this problem out. After a while we concluded that one or more of the banks were not firing in
the right sequence so we played with different wiring combinations and eventually got all six cylinders firing!
The mixture is still incredibly rich and the unburnt fuel in the exhaust has made the stainless headers turn blue
Looks like a call to the ecu supplier is needed on Monday.
At least is (sort of) runs now
Glad to hear you're nearly there. So basically it wasn't running because you'd put the plugs leads on wrong.....
Erm no actually
The engine loom (made by an electrician) was wired wrong. Three wires, each controlling two cylinders, were swapped around. We tried all 6
combinations of the three wires before choosing the one with the best (or was it 'not quite as bad'
running. It still runs like a pig but
at least it's a pig with six cylinders snorting & wheezing away. Just some software tweaking and it should settle down.
Steep learning curve this ecu lark
Cool, either way glad to hear you're getting there. Hope you get her up and on song soon.
