Clutch cable
Math - 30/6/06 at 08:37 PM

How does the clutch cable attach to the pedel, I thought that the cable would have a eye hole for the bolt to pass through, our cable has a straight end.

Also how do we adjust the pedel or do we?

depends what pedal box you have and what clutch cable ur referring.

if its a sierra, the pedal box has a kind of self-adjusting system which always keeps the cable in tension. the cable is connected to it through a sort of washer/stopper which makes me think in the event of it snapping i would have to get one from the dealers or a sierra one only as i dont think you can fit one of these washers to any cable.

The pedal has a quadrant on it so you are not pivoting the end of the cable otherwise it will fray and snap where the nipple is fitted. Capri/Escort cables have an eye fitting which must be free to swivel.

The clutch cable is for a sierra and has a straight end, I can't think how I can attach it to the pedel, I've drilled and tapped the hole as per manual...but i'm now stuck

Help!!!!
Sorry to be so thick.

Doesn't the Luego use a floor mounted pedal box? (as fitted in my Avon in pic below.)
In which case, you'll need a clutch cable with an eye such as fitted to Mk2 Escorts, Capris, Cortinas etc. NOT a Sierra one!Image deleted by owner
