Pinto inlet port diameter
matt_claydon - 8/7/06 at 01:21 PM

Could anyone please tell me what the diameter of the inlet ports on a 2l pinto is? I've measured a gasket but I don't trust that to be made accurately. Thought this info would be easy to find on the web but I've not done very well!

Cheers,
Matt.

Cheers for that. He doesn't happen to quote the spacing between ports too does he? Or anyone else know?

Thanks,
Matt.

Typical!! I have had he inlet manifold off today bad have just got home after refitting it or I could have measured it for you.

Still, the good news is I have an injection head fitted and I didn't know.

I'm probably picking my 2L pinto up from a mates house tomorrow.

If I do pick it up I'll measure it for you.
Its already in peices for easy carriage (actually I couldn't be *rsed to put it back together after I took it apart) so it'll be easy enough to measure.

Cheers,
Simon

Simon,

That would be great if you can, unless anyone else pops up with the figures in the meantime.

Cheers,
matt.

Matt,

I make it 37.5mm across each port (measuring horizontally).
The outer edges between two adjacent ports are 139.5mm apart, making the centres between two adjacent ports 102mm.
All the ports are the same distance apart.

Does this tie up with the measurements off the gasket?

Simon

Many thanks for that simon. The 102 is spot on but the holes in my gasket are nearly 42mm diameter. Makes sense that they oversize them in case a) you have enlarged your ports or b) the gasket is poorly made and the extra size allows for the spacing to be rubbish!

Now just gotta get the holesaw and file out and make me an inlet manifold
