Hello,

More ignition woes... It seems valencia ignition systems are somewhat scarce - i spent last night trying to work out why my cars not running well, and have settled on the points/dizzy being the problem, the spark is pretty weak and irratic.

I took the points out and had a closer look and they are pitted and worn looking, sadly nobody stocks points for old escorts these days. So don't suppose anybody between manchester and inverness happens to have a spare ignition system for sale?

Have you tried Burton Power? I think they still supply all the old ford points sets.

Or you could consider Megajolt...

Throw the points away and replace with electronic. Im sure luminition will do a conversion for it.

The original plan was to fit a valencia one, couldnt get one of those yesterday, but did manage to pick up an luminux converstion wotsit inside a dizzy for a 1600 with no vac advance which im now in the process of making work - it starts and idles, it does erm, pop quite a lot though
