I have an ally polo rad fitted, the type with the fins exposed at the top/bottom for want of a better explanation.

The fins were looking decidely messy where I'd leant over it, stuff had been knocked/dropped against them. The solution is to araldite a strip of aluminium along the top, tidies up the edge and stops further damage to the fins along the top edge.

Will epoxy be up to the heat ?

well a friend has done it on his racecar (where i got the idea) and its still there after numerous races and plenty of heat cycles

ill definately give that a go, mine was already quite bashed when i got it out of the car (proper locost style) and i bent some of the fins back (i was bored and had nothing else to work on), but its not quite up to my satisfaction!

Good idea Ned - I did something similar by making up a couple of brackets to mount a 'bumper strip' across the top of the rad ........ didn't think of gluing it in place which would have been much quicker!

'Up to the heat' - Yes, should be no probs. It can only get as hot as the pressurised boiling water, so about 110-115 degrees max.

The Micra rad has a plastic strip on top to prevent exposed fins from getting damaged. Same strip can also be fitted on bottom.
