It can go to the intake but a catch tank would be my choice.

A catch tank seems what most people do.
However. I have a 75,000 mile silver top Zetec that I have now done over 2000 miles in with the breathers routed to a catch tank. So far (even with some pretty agressive driving) I have got zip in the catch tank.
From this I would guess that you could probably get away with just a little breather filter. As long as your Zetec is in reasonable health.

Make up a cheap catchtank, if you just use a filter & you have blowby it will spray oil all over the enginebay with a fire risk.
