Which bleeding water pump for Zetec!!?!!?
mickymac - 19/7/06 at 02:48 PM

Hi Can someone help a newbie sort out a wee problem. I am fitting an early1998 Mondeo 2lt Zetec E silver top into my Luego locost. I believe from reading the forums I need an 1800 Zetec water pump and ribbed pulley, however when I try my local parts store and my local Ford dealer they always come back with the wrong items.

Can anyone tell me what year, model (ie Escort or Fiesta) and CC (ie 1800cc or 1600cc) of water pump and pulley I need to be looking for, will it fit my 1998 Mondeo 2lt Zetec E?

Regards

Mike

I got a 1800 escort pump, All you need to make sure of, is that the outlet (the big pipe) is coming out of the block at 90degrees to the side, rather than angled sideways.

If you need more specifics, I can take a pic, and maybe get a part no.

Ask the motor factors for a 1992 Escort 1.8 water pump and you get the correct part.
As stated above the outlet must be at 90 deg to the pump NOT angled backwards.

Hi Thanks for both prompt replys. Is the ribbed pully from the same 1992 Escort 1.8, the one that I am looking for?

I have no idea of the make.
They are badged "RaceLine"
I bought them cheap at one of the shows
I think from Midland Wheels but don't quote me on that.
they're 16 inch X 6 1/2 running Yokohama 539s 195 X 40 profiles.
