I have fabricated my own fuel tank and have to fit a vent valve as I am using a screw top.
I tried to buy a vent valve from the local Go Fast Shop - No luck.
Can one fabricate a vent valve?
I understand that they are used on m'bikes so you could try a local MB shop

i bought mine from think auto, not cheap though.
Ned.
said it many times, but I always fit a 3/8unf boss in the top of the tank, and just use 3/16" kunifer brake pipe wrapped once around the fuel
tank and directed towards the ground just below the chassis level.
Works perfectly well and is perfectly acceptable.
A small amount of fuel may leak out at certain roll angles, but this system is regularly used, and rollover valves usually leak in my experience
anyway!!
Up to you but that's what I am doing.
Costs a matter of pence then!
I've heard the valve from a cycle inner tube can be used to good effect, although I just have a 3mm hole drilled in the filler cap. Probably
highly dangerous if the car rolls but never had a drip out if it even on track with the car the right way up

Ditto NS Dev - but with a length of rubber fuel hose P clipped to the chassis and finishing below the base of the tank.
Cheaper than a cheap thing being tight
Thanks for the ideas.
Have anybody tried a VW part

It is called a gravety valve and used on the current A1 series still produced here in SA?
