Can I ask for advice as to whether its worth going to look at this engine? Its only round the corner see or should I hold out do we think?

I'm not an expert on those but i think they are great engines and if it is ok, then would be a good powerplant for a locost

Cheers

I'd definately go and see it, and hear it running for yourself,
sounds like he's open to offers too!!
I got mine like this for £150!!
150bhp standard!!

Go and have a look with some cash in your pocket. If its runs well and doesnt smoke go for it.

If its tappy when cold is usually just the tappets, running engine flush through it usually shuts it up. So nothing major.

They are great engines and as said 150bhp standard.

Oh yeah another thing to check is for oil in the coolant. This means its got a porous head which can be fixed but at cost. Theres some with coscast heads on which dont go porous. Cant remember how to tell which it is.

'Coscast' is stamped under one of the middle exhaust manifold pipes if it's a coscast. You may be able to see this with a small mirror. But I think it is only the early engines that have the coscast head.
