I need to rejet my R1 carbs to sort the mixture out on my Pinto.
It runs great from 1/4 throttle but is very rich until this point. I need to replace the idle jet with a smaller one (currently 17.5) does anyone know
where I can get jets from as the yamaha dealer only sells the standard ones.
have heard that weber dgav type jets fit but that may be wrong for yours
Don't swap the idle jets, adjust the idle mixture screws. Much easier. Will lean out <1/4 throttle mixture by loads if you want to.

Thought the time-honoured locost method was to solder up the jets and then re-drill. You can keep doing at as much as you like and it costts nowt.
Never done it myself though.
Cheers,
Matt.
you'd have to go some to drill pilot jets they are tttttttttiny!
Thanks for the reply's.
I have tried adjusting the mixture screws but still cannot get the mixture lean enough.
As has been said, the idle jets are tiny. I had thought of soldering them up but having removed them they are tiny but long. My needle drills are not
long enough.
Allens Performance looks like a good option. Not too far from me either.
It is interesting that without ram pipes and an airbox the mixture was fine. With both fitted the top end is still good but low throttle is much
richer. Possibly becaus ethe fuel standoff is now being drawn back in.
