hi guys please help, ime building mcsorley wide chassis locost, ime wanting to use rover t16 turbo motor, i understand you can use a lt 77 gearbox,
also r380 gearbox or a sherpa gearbox, ime sure a v8 rover bellhousing wont fit to t16 motor and i cant find a rover sd1 2000 gearbox they are too
rare, what is the easyiest method?? is there an adapter plate? can a bellhousing be adapted? how are you guys doing this without spending £1000
thanx for any help
tony
I would point you in the direction of Robinhood but their existence appears to have vanished...
www.robinhoodengineering.co.uk is "suspended"
someone not been paying ther bills?
There was an artical in last months PPc Mag about the T16 engine I am sure it mentioned somthing about Rear wheel drive gearboxses will have a look
when I get home.
A note on the LT77 finding a good one is getting dificult as there are a lot of sloppy tired ones about the R380 is a better box supposidly ( even has
a good gear change )
Re Robinhood not paying the bill ? erm I wander

I bet it was a typo. Probably more like 50 GB of downloads. If that is true, I suspect they are arguing over an horrendous extra set of bandwidth
charges.
I remember the stick death website hitting their cap and being charged thousands just for a few days usage. Thanfully for their owner they waivered it
on the first month.
If you do get info from RH, I think I remember they were selling the Rover engines with MT75 boxes (obviosuly with a special bellhousing)
I would check out bell housing and gearbox for Landrover Freelander I think the engine is fore and aft though I might be wrong!

i think weve got two adapter plates in the factory .
weve had no failures from cut away bellhousings .
PPC states it share the same patern as the lt77 ( I asumme non v8 ones !!! )
so if that is the case would somthing like this do ? one end definatly right the 380
ebay linky
and it looks like the Disco MPI had the 380 was this fitted with a ver of the T-16
regards
there must be a way
