Using standard Zetec Injection
MattCraneCustoms - 31/8/06 at 08:56 PM

Hi all.
Now then. Im gonna attempt to use the standard injection system on a 2.0l Zetec. Most likely this engine will be used from a focus. The only thing I've found that may cause anything to be a problem is that the plenum chamber sticks out too much. However I'm using my own chassis design so can't see much of a problem, but I've found some replacement intakes, which look like they remove the plenum chamber, specifically the Injen one on this link. Choose focus on the left, then intake, and take a look. What do you all think??

Just get your welding gear out and knock up something along the lines of the Trust one (top left pic), using the standard AFM too.

doesn't the standard injection controler need you to use the standard Ford key and lock mechanism ?

I will be using standard injection from a 94 mondeo, but will try to weld something like griffin offers. You can also buy it off course.

Even has drawings of it:

Some early ones definately dont need the key etc. Im using a mix of L reg Mondeo & L reg Escort Zetec parts. Neither of the donors had chipped keys and from distant memory of working in a Ford main dealer they didnt have chipped keys until around about late N reg. Going with the ealier engine also has the added bonus of not needing a CAT
