OK engine is coming out tomorow to have the crankshaft seals replaced. Got my bottom helf gasket set a clutch alignment tool a flywheel puller etc etc....anyother 'special' tools I should remember?? and is there anything I should/could do whilst I've got the engine out??? eg. would some ARP bolts push me past the magical 6Krpm on my pinto??? is sump already modded - now is a good time if not. Its a pig to fit and mod pick up tube in situ - guess how i know????

whiles it's out, check the condition of the oil and water pumps (if not already known) and replace if necessary - less fiddly than doing it with the engine inthe car. Only other thing I would do is replace the cam belt - they only cost a few quid!

Depending on which 2.0 you have you may not need ARP bolts.

The 205 Injection block, rods etc is good for 7000 or even a bit more in small bursts without ARP bolts.

If it is not the 205 then you need to do some reading or get a 205 block motor

Oli don't forget the following special tools :
1 Glasgow Screwdriver, aka Patent adjuster in several large sizes
2 24" breaker bar
3 spare knuckle for 2
4 Gas Axe ( may not be totally necessary for such a recent build but having one in view wil frighten the car into loosening bolts!)
5 Pair of steel toecap boots ( Guarantee that you won't drop anything also can frighten car if it thinks you are getting frustrated and about to give it a good kicking)
6 Large pair bolt croppers ( to disconnect wiring loom)

The engine crane - something designed to test the breaking strain of whatever you forgot to disconnect before attempting to remove the engine!

Wires, bolts, pipes, cable ties etc!

What Mike conveniently neglected to point out is just how reliable the bike engine and gearboxes are

BEC 0-60 is great. Top end is Ok as well. The sound is fantastic. Overall speed is crap when you have to take them off the road and save up your pennies for replacements LOL. Oh they are great on fuel as well when they are off the road. Oil consumption can be excessive

Haha! Liking some of those responses....its a fully reconditioned 1.6 pinto so hopefully shouldn't be too much of a challenge given its only done 150 miles! Doesn't sound like theres anything else to add really....so guess thats good. Cheers Oli.
