Zetec Inlet Manifold
TangoMan - 6/10/06 at 06:57 PM

As winter approaches (I know cos it's bloody cold!!!) I am looking to start my upgrade.

I know that exhaust manifold flanges are avaialble on eBay but have not seen any inlet flanges.

I seem to remember someone on here having some made.

Does anyone know where I can source a flange, in either ally or stainless.

Thanks for any info.

CVH exhaust manifold can be fitted to a Zetec with a bit of dring and tapping --- some say one tiny bit of alloy welding is also advised.
There is a web page somewhere on the web on how to do it.

ex Westfield CVH manifolds have be known to be found on Ebay

Cut one out round the gasket. Dead easy with a pillar drill, file and jigsaw

You could try This place or why not ask Bogg Bros They have these cut from alloy to make there bike manifolds. Or Altiss.

Can I ask what your plans for induction are ?

As Trident says a cvh manifold has the same port spacings as the zetec but diferant stud spacings and it can be used to run a zetec withe a single carb for not a lot of money.

I have been playing with this conversion inbetween the locost and have a spare modified manifold minus adapter plate that is FREE to anyone on here that will cover the postage( I did my own as it wasnt up to my standard)

I am pleased so here is a photo of the project engine

I've been looking at a 1.8 XR2i engine I have and the inlet manifold looks like it could be cut and shut to mount bike carbs or throttle bodies.

Do you have any photos Pete.

If it looks like it will do the job I can start to trawl eBay.

thanks.

All depends what your induction plans are.

I have a carb manifold for a CVH and I don't have the ability (ally welding) to modify that to take bike carbs/throttle boddies. If I did have I think I would build my own from scratch, there would be a lot of modifaction required to make this work on more than one carb.

I also have an inlet manifold for twin webbers, this would be a far better start point to take bike carbs/throttle boddies if you can ally weld. They go for reasonable money on ebay too.

I can't comment on the CVH EFI manifold as I don't have one.

I have a 1.6 CVH engine, so I am not troubled by modding the stud spacings but if you want any dimensions of what I have then please ask.
