Type 9 top bolts
Pdlewis - 24/10/06 at 03:55 PM

Hi,

Does anyone know if the top two bolt holes on a type 9 are threaded or are they just threaded on the engine block?

I ask because mine have been over tightened so i can't loosen then without disconnecting the gearbox and sliding the lot forward. I would hower be able to get at the bolt to break the heads off. So if i do this i need the type 9 not to be threaded so i can get the engine out

Cheers

I'm not quite sure what area your refering to - by 'ending block' do you mean engine block?

All the thread for holding the bellhousing to the gearbox is in the gearbox casting.

All the thread to hold the bellhousing to the block is in the block.

HTH

No threads in my bellhousing, only in the engine.
