Which bike carbs?
scotty g - 1/12/06 at 05:28 PM

Ok guys and gals, i have a 1.8 Zetec and after a few changes of mind and direction i have decided that i would like to go down the bike carbs route.
What does everyone else use, what size, from what bike, what is easiest to fit etc?
Many thanks all.
Cheers.

This might be a silly question, but how do you jet these carbs are different sizes readily available ???

You can use weber DGAS/DGAV (£1.60 each)main jets in Keihin carbs (fitted to honda CBR and some kawsaki). The idle jets will probably be fine as they are.

Not sure about Mikuni carbs. I guess you can always drill the jets out to the size you want.

Ruled out injection? carbs (sorry if this offends some) cant come close to a well sorted electronic injection system.

I did R1 carbs and was able to order factory jets. If I remember, it was 180 for the main and 20 for the idle (not sure on the idle). I'm in the USA and was able to go to a bike dealer and buy a set of jets for $12

The R1's work fantastic....and I did them on a boggs brothers manifold
