Has anyone bought a cam for a 2.8 v6 and partially liked it. I know where to get one but when they say street or track etc. I'm not sure how extreme to go as I love a good lumpy idle with the car shaking like a jelly, but then I do want some low down torque as well. Tall order...? I was also thinking of solid mounting the engine and gearbox to the chassis to stiffen it up. What do you think, stupid idea??
I have a Piper BP270 in mine and it doesn't affect the idle unduly. bit difficult to say how much of a kick in the pants it induces as i
didn't experience the engine before the cam change. seemed to pull my cobra alright, though.
Now being fitted to my Robin Hood
Thanks for that,
I'll have a look at them.
Cheers.
I would certainly not solid mount the V6 for road use, it won't make for a pleasant car to drive.
hmm maybe your right, I just remembered that I had done a long time ago that with the falcon originally and it was a bit savage. The buggy’s solid mounted and it’s totally smooth, you can do the old trick of standing a pen on the back and revving it (gently) and it doesn't fall over. Flat four you see...
