Hello

Can anyone think of a 4x4 system that has the front diff in front of the engine, apart from a Landy. I want this to aid in weight distriubtion.
Cheers for any help,

kraM

sierra? ive seen a front mounted v8 in a golf but if you go down that route the front diff and shafts are where the v8 sump is and the oil pump on the earlier (pre95) rovers is in the way of the diff too

Dont sierra 4x4 front drive shafts go through the sump? Maybe wrong!

Yeah they do but there's nothing stopping you moving the whole front axle forwards and extending the front prop. You'll just have two holes in the sump to plug up (if you really want to keep the ford V6).

Cheers for all that,
I shall be hunting SJ's this weekend!!!
I wonder how many ponies the transmission can handle?
The power now looks to be coming from a 20v 1.8t VW lump.

Cheers

just do as Liam said, and has indeed done, and as Dax do, and use the sierra transmission.

Its built to take more than the 3 or so hp that the suzuki has!!!!

We had someone on here who had a Blown VR6 engine in a 4x4 Corrado.

Pretty sure he'd used the VW 4x4 system.
