Well ive got a set finally and have them fitted. They pretty much bolted on and fired up. I seem to have quite a few pipes left over and was wondering
if im ok to just leave them. from research it appears there are two on the top that apparently go to the airbox but i presumme i can just leave them
now. I also two pipes which i understand are for water to heat them which i guess i can also leave. That aside they seem real good and rev real quick
compared to the webers. I tried the carb balancer and 3 registered the same but one and the left didnt register but it all sounds fine, any ideas?
I also plan to you only socks as i dont want to cut the bonnet, do you think this will be ok
thanks
I'm assuming they're CV type carbs- these often extra tubes which go to above the diaphragm to supply atmospheric pressure above (with
vacuum existing below) ie no airflow through them so they don't strictly need to be filtered....
Are you using a Carbtune balancer? If so try swapping the hoses around to see if one of the metal bars are sticking. If you've done this and it
still shows no flow from one carb but it sounds okay I'd suspect the balancing nipple on that carb is blocked. Have you tried the tube in the ear
method of balancing? That should tell you if the balancing is near enough....
If possible, use a "proper" filter rather than the socks as they tend to be rubbish for air flow by don't allowing enough room between the trumpets and the filter. If you're stuck for space, would a plenum and remote feed be doable?
what engine u running?
got any pics of car?

I guess i could make up a plenum post sva as i just want to get it done for now. I guess its not a good idea running it without a filter so i shall
probably just make up some socks for now. Dont know if anyone has found example pics of a plenum have they? If this carb on the left has some needle
thing sticking I would of imagined it would be like a set of webers and sound rough running, where as for some reason this sounds absolutely fine.
Must increase the idle speed though as once its warmed up it wont tick over. I thought before id make do without a choke but now ive relased I need
one. Must check that kit car builders website.
Thanks for the help guys
