How good is it for use on a turbo and headers, does anyone know what temp a turbo runs at?? I know its supposed to keep heat out of the engine bay and that exhaust gassess escape better when they are hotter, but what about the oil that is feeding the turbo, will it not raise the oil temp ??

I dont know, but probably best not to wrap a turbo for the reasons you mention. Theres also the fact that wrapping cast iron bits can lead to them cracking....

Given that I've seen turbos run glowing red hot, I'd guess it's not best to wrap it at all. As you say, the turbo may get too hot, and the wrap would probably crumble off in the not too distant future. If the oil feed can keep up with it, then I'd guess it wouldn't matter much, but that may be an issue with other oil needs elsewhere (like the engine! )

I've seen very neat little aluminumised jackets for turbos somewhere though rather costly. I agree wrapping up with tape is probably not good, gtoo much heat kept in the turbo will cause charge heating issues and require big intercooler to sort out!

The best way to keep everything cool is CERAMIC coating - but it's quite expensive.

I'd definitely investigate that first - it's unlikely you'd get a turbo white hot unless you are doing something extreme?

IIRC Burton Power do some turbo jacket things - but again - I'd go ceramic coating.

If found this company in America - its roughly indicative - probably cost you a couple hundred quid to do everything - bearing in mind good quality exhaust wrap will set you back around £100ish
