8.3l Viper Engine Anyone??
MattCraneCustoms - 10/1/07 at 10:17 PM

Check this out!! This would make the ultimate engine for a build!! Not the smallest of engines, but the sound from that would be superb. Now if only I can get it shipped over here . . . I want something like this for my next build - when this one gets finished . . . .
Viper Engine
Regards
Matt

I always wanted an old wwII MTb with a few of these engines inside it, I didn't realise though they were only 500hp though, oh well dreams

I think you'd need to slightly alter the book dimensions for that engine

Who cares about "only 500hp" when there's 525lbs of torque ?????????????????????????

Pick a gear, any gear and just FLOOR IT...........

Oh dear.......................... Just opened the old BHP v Torque can again

what abot this one.. its from a viper srt10... better ratios of the gear box...hehe

No big problem, I know I don't like turbos but just add a pair of T4 turbos and suitable accompanying mods.........1700hp and 1700lbft of torque should do the trick!!!

Go on youtube and type in 1700hp viper

Had a chap in yesterday, wants some st/st tube for his turboed skyline, pushing out 648 at the mo.

mate works for a company in Tamworth ....

writing the ECU (and now testing) for the viper. How mad is that, sleepy little Tamworth makes the ECU's for the viper.

The Vipers V10 actualy sounds pretty crap in comparision to a (crossplane crank)V8 or V12 IMO.

It's only got 500 bhp, because it's a big American engine. You'd get laughed at in Europe for making one of them with so little (relative) power.

The exhaust manifolds on the motor at the top of this thread look toss don't they? All of the primaries are a different length, probably add 30 bhp just sorting that out

That's what I mean, do it properly and all would be much better Just needs a blower then.
