Air filter bike carbs
pinto - 4/3/07 at 06:59 PM

Hi all
want to get your thoughts on air filter on honda bike carbs
(engine pinto) not running any filter at moment ( do you really need to on normal fast road use ?)
1 Trying to work out size and shape of air box would you keep original trumpets on inside box (would rather not come out of bonnet)
2 would you take off black plastic cover which holds trumpets on or fix back plate to these (if you take these off you expose 3 little brass pipes one of which is blocked up and it seems to make it messy for air getting into carbs)
3 is it worth trying to duct cold air into air box or would a filter on end of box be much different

Iv got an itg sausage on mine. I left the plastic backplate on with the trumpets, i found it easier to mount that way.
