does it give any more power?
if so how much?
1) yes
2) about a watt!

edited to be less tongue in cheek -
power gains due to RAM effect are marginal/zero - much more gain from getting cold air in there. Superbikes up at 180 - 200mph might start to pickup a
percent or 2 (they have teams of specialist aerodynamicists to help...)

I remember calculating once that 160mph was roughly the equivalent of a 10 degree reduction in intake air temperature. The increase in pressure at a
more car-relevant 100mph is about 1200Pa, which is only 1% increase over the standard atmospheric.
You're better off just making sure you get a supply of cool, fresh air to the intake than worrying about ram effect.
IIRC Ramair is only beneficial at speeds greater than 180mph. Therefore, no you are not going to benefit in your BEC.

Unless you ram it in with a supercharger!

ah so a bonnet scoop doesnt give any positive effect besides looks a wee bit nice but it increases drag ie haveing an adverse effect,
yamaha quote 180 BHP for their 2007 R1 or 189 with ram air. That's a 5% increase. It has a top speed of 178 MPH and you might have to get quite close to this to get the extra power.
