Anyone know of a good cheap source to buy engine components for my zetec rebuild. I've looked on Burton power and whilst they're not rip off merchants and I value the excellent customer service I bauked a bit at the £100 a set for piston rings and £70 for main bearing shells! I was hoping to get both and a full gasket set from £150 with some change to spare! Any advice much appreciated - oh and its too late to tell me not to as they don't need rebuilding......Oli.

Find a local engine shop/rebuilder and get prices from them.

been there and done that, Would sugest not doing the same. Bits where circa £300 ( Ford wanted £600)

Sell your motor as bits to the Zvh Rs boys and get another runner. Clean and enjoy, If it goes pop repeat the prosses. Imho

Pistons and components are unfortuately no more. Drove past today and its all boarded up and closed down.
Darren's still not e-mailed me back yet but imagine he'll get round to it eventually!! Will try the ebay link. As for getting a new one - the whole point to rebuilding it was because I wanted to learn how to take a 16v to pieces and rebuild it from scratch having never played with one before. Oli.

ebay; for rings - maybe a complete zetec and take the rings out? (probs not a good idea though).

there is engine buiulder, newark, letterslot or similar name advertising xflow/pinto blocks -cna't harm asking.
