
I am trying to layout the cooling pipework on my engine. I have drawn the diagram below of how I am planning to plumb it. Convinced myself this is
how it should be but am still unsure? Any advice would be much appreciated. Also plan to use a rover inline thermostat...

Surely the pipe from the pump should go to the top hose not bottom?
toyota have the pump outlet going to the bottom of the rad, i have used a similar route as shades has but i have used the original thermostat housing,
have a look in my photo archive, but i wont be using a heater so the header tank will go in place of the heater.

My engine ran too hot when I used the Rover thermostat housing (especially in the summer) but I know Raw recomend using it so not too sure why this
was the case.
I'm sure someone has posted a picture of the cooling plumbing before on another thread - perhaps it is worth a search?

i used a bmw in line stat on my 4age locost installation. it works well and should be replaceable for a few more years.

Most suck water from the bottom hose and pump it through the block where it returns to the top of the radiator via the thermostat when it's hot don't they? 4age looks a bit of an oddball to me with the way the thermostat is set up and a lot of sites seem to not bother with one.
