Can anyone recommend a place to attach the earth strap to a zetec (2l blacktop) block - any pictures would be really helpful.

As Biga Wasa says, BH bolts.

I have my battery earth there but have earthed my Megasquirt and Wideband to the rear inlet manifold bolt.

Aim for a starter motor securing bolt if you have enough cable.
