Lightened flywheel

What would be the approximate cost of lightening a 1.8 Pinto flywheel. (I am posting this on a Sunday so can't ask the local engineering works yet)

I haven't done it myself, but I have heard that £100 is average

I am having some work done to my zetec, the company quoted me £30 - £40 to lighten the 1.8 zetec flywheel. But I am paying them to do some major cylinder head work for me.

Ive heard a 1.6 pinto flywheel should fit on, and is lighter.

had some interesting responses to my previous thread on the subject of using a 1.6 pinto flywheel

Basically don't bother.....

no one acually said its not worth lightening the flywheel. it was said its not worth changing the 2000 one for a 1600 one.

Was quoted $30 (about £20) by a local machine shop.

I wonder how much for titanium gaiters?

I think I paid about £20 to a machine shop to have my VW flywheel lightened.
