I am fitting a k series engine to my indy, and I have found that the gearbox I have doesn't have a long enough input shaft for it to work with
the caterham bellhousing i've got.
Does anyone have a 5 speed long shaft version, from a v6 sierra i think, that they would like to swap for a standard type 9 gearbox? or for sale?
I'm at the stage where the build is getting on my nerves!!!!

Just keep stubling into problem after problem.
thanks.

Gotta type 9 from a diesel which I think has the long shaft.
Any good to ya??
i'm sure it might be, if it's the long shaft job. Does the diesel type 9 have different ratios to the 'normal' ones?
The diesel box has rubbish ratio's, BUT, all the innards that you require can be rebuilt into your box. You just need the main shaft from the diesel box. If your standard box is a good one then well worth doing. The V6 box does have different ratios to the 4 pot box, but the ratio's in the four pot box are not bad, (much better than the diesel) HTH Ray
