I have a starter motor from my sierra dohc engine, but I am now using a crossflow, so my question is will the starter motor from the sierra work on the crossflow?

Probably depends on which flywheel ring gear you have . IIRC the ring gear for a pre engaged starter has 130 or 132 teeth , inertia ring gear has 110. If you have the correct ring gear then it may be worth bolting the starter on and giving it a try?
