help please i'm having problems getting any fuel pressure seem to have a bit over the top system 2 red top facet fuel pumps 1st pump feeds what looks like a fuel swirl pot which is then fed into 2nd pump which feed filter king pressure regulator which has 1 feed to carbs and 1 return to tank connecting pressure gauge between supply and carbs i can only get a reading of 1 psi tried 2 gauges engine seems to run ok bt occasionally back fires through carbs
sonds like you should not have a return at carb as the presure will be zero as no resistance
Normally the regulator is in the return pipe, keeping the carbs or injectors at the right pressure. If you are trying to feed the carbs on the back of the regulator there won't be sufficient pressure.
Total over kill -- to use the bits you have just ditch the swirl pot, return line and one of the pumps, connect pump inlet straight to the tank, and
the outlet through the regulator to to carbs set pressure to 3psi.
Better still use a nore suitable pump (Facet or SU Burlen or Ford Mechanical or the AC electric pump off a 1980s Rover 216 and ditch the regulator.
i realise it's over kill but it was built like this when it was raced the swirl pot stops fuel surge at the pump and i cant remove it as it's built onto the tank carbs don't have a return on them might have a look at weekend see if i can make the system a bit less complicated
