hey all can someone recommend me an oil cooler, thermostat plate and pipework to run an oil cooler in the nosecone of my pinto kitcar?
thanks for any help

Why do you need one?

track use, want to keep the temps under control as much as possible. Im upgrading the cooling system too so might as well fit an oil cooler to help that side of things.
I would look at rally design website they have coolers for escorts that would fit below or in front of your rad. They should be OK as they are for a
similar capacity engine .

A pinto shouldn't need an oil cooler as long as your cooling system is in good nick.
If it doesn't like being on a track, then upgrade your cooling system first - fitting an oil cooler to compensate for a poor water cooling system
is expensive and probably won't do the trick.
OMHO of course

cooling system defo getting overhauled, was just being cautious on the oil cooler front.
Ill maybe try it without and see how it goes. save myself £150 odds.
oh yes its a 2.1 pinto with 40s (soon to be 45s) and a rally cam so its going to get a good flogging

I have no problems with mine over heating on a track and it has no oil cooler - and its quite highly tuned.

out of interest what cooling setup do you have? Im for rediong the lot but not really sure what route to take.
I am using a radiator supplied to me by MK - I think it is a cortina one, but it was newly recored.
I have a Sierra expansion tank at the highest point in the engine bay.
The pipework is fairly straightforward - except in my case if I ever had to replace the alternator belt I would have to break into the cooling system
as the bottom hose goes through the middle

Admittedly, not a tuned Pinto and not on track, but with a Polo rad, Spal fan and sensible pipework I can't get my cooling system to budge over 92 deg with repeated and continual thashing on a hot day.
Just spotted this on ebay linky
It should be adaptable for a pinto with a bit of thought!
