hi dose anyone no were i can get a air fillter for my pinto 2.0 with normal twin webber carbs i would like a K&N fillter were is the cheapest place to get one from hope someone can help

marshall, I notice that you are building an Avon - you could get you filters from Tiger at a reasonable rate...

Although I believe (wait for the backlash) that the sort of filters you are talking about look far better than they perform - I am told that you would be better using 'socks' (eg pipercross) which are also cheaper and if you buy them from Tiger they have 'TIGER' printed on them (if that flicks your switch...

K+N filters flow a decent amount of air and filter it, whereas foam filters flow a good amount of air or filter it.

Basically foam filters need oiling to filter air successfully, and when they are oiled, as a rule they will flow nowhere as much air as a K+N size for size.

If you dont oil it, you aint stopping the dust getting in....

Correct, they come pre oiled (most foam ones dont....), but the imprtant bit is- they flow air and filter the crap out. It is nothing to do with the oiling bit, it's the fact that once oiled, foam filters behave totally differently compared to cotton/gauze.

P.s. No connection with K+N, in fact, at present I have foam filters on mine....

But hopefully, Santa will be bringing me some 'proper' filters soon
