I've noticed a few builders are doing away with the 'lift for reverse' gate on the MT75 gearlever, whats it like to use when thats done, i.e. accidental reverse going down the box?

When finished SWMBO will be using my car too, dont really want to have to instruct her on the gearbox, but doing away with the lift would neaten things up a bit.

There is a device to prevent the gearbox going into reverse from 5th.
It has to go to neutral before, so it is impossible to get "6th" gear. I`ve done without the lift up part as well.
