Fresto T Piece

Hi, anyone know if this Fresto T Piece is suitable for the cooling system on my zetec engine?

Its a 6mm push fit I had lying around and plumbed it into the breather side of the system.

Its normally used with air (at work) but will it be OK with boiling coolant?

Its not a festo one, it looks like an SMC one, yea they're pressure tested up 8 bar i think, i can find out the max temperture they will take for you in the morning.

Its got FRESTO embossed around the edge of the blue ring...

I would imagine that they will withstand 100 degrees without too much trouble - neat looking too.

Is it a cheap Festo copy that your MED have been buying it???

In theory i would have thought they would be OK. Industrial air fittings are rather well made. Certainly worth a try and test. The thing that may fatigue them and lead to failure could be excessive vibration and wobbling about in a car. Try to secure them and the pipework where possible and keep the pipe going into the fittings nice and true. Watch for burrs on edge of pipe as these take out the o-rings when you push it all together.
